Underwater housings for High End TV and Films
We have 4 underwater camera housings that we use for high end TV and feature film work, all come with glass flat and dome ports and can be used with the 450mm ‘mega dome’ port option for spilt surface shots
Our ‘go to’ housings are the Gates Remote Cinema housings that take the most popular camera bodies such as Alexa, Sony Venice, Phantom Flex and Red DSMC 3 – they even take the new Alexa 265 large format camera. These housings have been honed to perfection for hand held operation and come with our unique trim and tilt weight system that allows you to set the angle of the camera whilst neutrally buoyant underwater.
The third housing is our Hydroflex style tube housing that takes all the cameras noted above but isn’t as finely balanced for hand held work as the Gates housings are, we tend to supply this housing for use on cranes, track cams, underwater jib arms, sliders etc as the grip options are more flexible than the Gates housings
Our fourth housing is a small and compact option that takes Alexa Mini and Mini LF only, we tend to supply this as a single axis motorised lens focus option for dry hire requirements, the other housings require a technician or someone on your crew who has prepped them for us before
The 3 main housings all come with ARRI WCU4 LCS systems that are hard wired through RIA-1 brains for the non ARRI cameras and also can have independent hard wired Iris or Zoom control via one of our ARRI SXU handsets, the 4th housing only works with ARRI WCU4 / SXU and Cforce mini motors on a single lens axis
Power comes from the surface down the same loom as lens control and picture to surface and for the Sony Venice we have ethernet cables in the loom that allow the Semote to hard wire into the housing for controlling the Venice and / or Phantom Flex cameras, these cables can also work for Red DSMC3 Raptor or Komodo X camera control too
